I have a passion for riding. I also have a passion for helping individuals to ride safely, skilfully and with panache, to get the most out of their bike and riding experience. Something I have successfully done for over 20 years and continue to do with much enthusiasm. Making motorcycle training a life choice is an attitude I am keen to inspire in all who ride a motorcycle.

I wanted to pass the IAM RoadSmart Advanced Motorcycle Test, but after numerous observed rides with my local IAM motorbike club, I just wasn’t improving the way I had hoped. Don’t get me wrong - those club trainers are great, the best of the best, yet I kept making the same mistakes and showing the same weaknesses in my riding no matter how many times I went out with them. My confidence flagged and I considered throwing in the towel.
But then I got in touch with Motorcycle Buddies, and that’s when everything changed. I began a short course of individual all-day riding lessons with Gregory, who remained my instructor from then until my test day. He is an inspirational teacher, with endless patience (and believe me, with me as a pupil, he needed it), and limitless practical advice about high-level safe-riding techniques. Although he has a thorough knowledge of the expectations and demands of the advanced test, he does not simply teach how to pass the test - instead, he teaches how to ride safely as an advanced rider, which means he focuses on improving all-round safe-riding skills, rather than on meeting the minimum requirements needed for a positive test result. Of course, our lessons didn't always go to plan, and a couple of times I almost gave up, but each time Gregory gave me the confidence to continue with the learning process.
Last week, I passed the IAM RoadSmart Advanced Motorcycle Test. The examiner commented that I had provided a “good, solid, safe ride.” I am delighted with this achievement, and I know I could not have reached this level of riding without that help from Gregory and his colleagues at Motorcycle Buddies. (Before my IAM test, they also took me on two “mock” tests to confirm I had the appropriate skill level.) It’s not just about passing the advanced test, although I am well chuffed about that. It’s about having the confidence to know that I am now a much safer rider than I was when I first started my tuition with the Motorcycle Buddies team.
So would I recommend Gregory and Motorcycle Buddies for any rider who wants to improve their safe-riding skills? Does a duck with one leg swim in a circle?

Welcome to Motorcycle buddies Ltd (MCB)
MCB based in London, has been successfully providing personalised advance coaching to a diverse client base, within and around the Home Counties, since 2019.
No different to having your own personal trainer at the gym; our clients come to us with a specific goal and the understanding that motorcycling, as a physical skill, needs to be exercised and practiced, so that thinking, reflexes and machine control remain sharp, and in top form, to enable a safe, and skilful ride.
We offer the opportunity to engage an experienced and qualified riding coach we like to call "your buddy", to train with or ride out with. Your buddy will provide a personalised approach, to create a quality riding experience based on your needs and aspirations, without pressure or judgement. What better way to transform your riding experience, enjoy your bike, the open roads, and gain the exercise and practice than with your personal buddy!
Our success is based on our belief that no two riders are the same and the way we deliver our service reflects this: Not everyone learns at the same pace. Not everyone enjoys riding or practicing on their own. Not everyone enjoys riding in a group, under pressure, or for hours on end. Some enjoy a progressive pace, longer miles, without the waiting around. Skill development or skill maintenance is considerably more rewarding with the watchful eye of a qualified buddy to train with and share your thoughts, views, experiences, and achievements with.
Where training is needed to be continuous and developmental to maximise performance, we take a realistic approach to making personalised coaching accessible and affordable.

Who will my buddy be?
Your buddy is an accomplished, engaging and passionate motorcyclist, with the right amount of humour, keen to deliver an experience above and beyond training to leave a smile on your face. Your buddy will have thousands of riding miles, the professional qualities, highly experienced, skilful and an active National Observers, and / or Masters mentor, qualified to deliver a high-quality experience. Additional qualifications include RoSPA Gold, and professional teaching qualifications at FE / HE level
